| Taking you step by step through the development and making of your
own designs of rings, pendants, necklaces, earrings etc. Working mainly in silver other materials can be included, as can simple stone setting. |

techniques used include piercing, filing, bending, soldering, texturing,
casting and polishing. There is tremendous scope at all levels for you to be inventive and imaginative, and to create a unique piece of jewellery. |
| For both
silversmithing and jewellery all the tools are available at the studio.
Small amounts of silver and semi precious stones will be available for purchase or may be ordered beforehand. |

More advanced work should be discussed with Ian beforehand so that the necessary metal can be ordered. Hallmarking can be arranged with the Birmingham Assay Office.

WEEKEND COURSES These are held on the first weekend of each month except January. Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Tea and coffee is included. Excellent overnight accommodation is available locally.
