Ian Buckley, Tutor

Ian trained at the Birmingham School of Jewellery and Aston University.

He worked for many years in The Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham making silverware for Cartiers and Mapin & Webb in London, and also working on commissions, some of which were given as presentation gifts by the Royal Family to foreign dignitaries.

Ian is extremely well qualified in silver and goldsmithing, jewellery and furniture making.

After some time teaching metalwork in schools he and his wife Sue decided to set up a studio and create a unique place to learn arts and crafts. In the early 1990s they set about building a bespoke studio, handmade by Ian - even down to making all the doors, windows and handles himself.

In 1994 they opened the studio and have since then put on hundreds of courses for students from across the country to come and study in a magical setting.
